While our team always does our best to be by your side as quickly as we can, in the unfortunate event your home or business is consumed by a fire, please refer to the above list. Your safety is important to us.
In mid May of 2025 a neighbor of one of our employees experienced a house fire from a failed appliance. We have worked on this house a few times, helping finish her basement as well as redecking the decks on her home. So we reached out and offered to help. The homeowner was working with another contractor already so she initially didn’t want help. We offered our guidance to look at anything the contractor was planning or help with navigating the claim process.
We followed up later and she said the contractor’s estimate exceeded her insurance coverage and would require her to take out a mortgage on the home. As an elderly widow, the financial burden would have been significant. We offered to take a look at what they quoted her, and identified several areas where costs appeared substantially inflated. Confident that the project could be completed within the available insurance coverage, we prepared a revised estimate and worked directly with the insurance adjuster to review the scope and pricing.
The result was a revised project estimate that came in approximately $150,000 lower than the original proposal while still covering the full restoration needs of the home. By bringing the project back within policy limits, the homeowner was able to complete the repairs with no out-of-pocket expenses beyond her insurance deductible.
This project highlights a commitment to honest pricing, advocacy for homeowners, and practical problem-solving during a difficult and stressful situation.
